You might have heard of “Emergence Creative”, if not and you are in the creative realm it is worth becoming familiar. After the success of this inaugural festival, it is likely to become an ongoing event for those who think ‘digitally and differently’.

Emergence Creative took place from Wednesday 20 to Friday 22 February in picturesque Margaret River and was a unique opportunity to explore the inter-relationship between technology, communication and creativity with some leading names in the digital and tech space.

There were talks with presentations and various out-of-the-ordinary master classes, workshops and forums where participants not only learnt from the best, but were also able to network with creative people, entrepreneurs and investors.

As major sponsors, Scott Print was proud to have attended Emergence, from opening night at stunning Cape Mentelle to the amazing finale.

The festival included short films, the Big Bang Fizz breakfast (where 100 bottles of champagne were popped), two days of inspirational speakers (highlights included Bill Tai venture capitalist from Mai Tai and Adam Ferrier from Naked Communications), an undisciplined surf competition, the WAM showcase at Settler’s Tavern and topped off with the Grand Finale dinner at Leeuwin Estate.

There were an abundance of different forums, conferences and the like, but this is a truly individual event. We walked away being inspired, understanding that there is a need to embrace change and failing positively, learn from past mistakes, focus on expanding networks and monitor one’s digital presence.

The festival was a sell out and judging by the feedback that it is getting, we believe this will be a festival to watch in coming years.
